Step off an aircraft into the exclusivity of Orient-Express Safaris’ three ecologically sensitive luxury lodges. Each fly-in lodge offers luxury tented accommodation with en-suite facilities, air conditioning and superb service under the professional eye of Orient-Express staff and experienced guides. In the core of the Okavango Delta’s incredible wetlands, lies Eagle Island Camp. Further east, hidden on the banks of the Delta, is Khawi River Lodge - a perfect hideout with extensive views of the floodplain. In the north, on the cracked earth of the Kalahari Sandveld’s dry Savute Channel, lies Savute Elephant Camp. Orient-Express Safaris offers a variety of experiences. The artistic can take advantage of photographic courses or try their hand at painting workshops. Hands-on Eco Edu-Wise experiences instill visitors with first hand knowledge of the bush and the art of tracking. Day 1 Saturday - Johannesburg Arrive into Johannesburg where you
are assisted to your hotel for overnight. Day 2-7 Sunday-Friday - Johannesburg/Botswana Your exciting Botswana safari begins today as you fly northwest across the Kalahari Desert to Maun, gateway to the unspoiled Okavango Delta. This unique eco-system supports the largest concentration of elephant and buffalo found in Africa. It is home to the legendary prides of the Kalahari lion, rare species such as sitatunga and wild dog, and its bird life has become nearly as well know as its bushmen and their ancient ways. During your stay you will be accommodated at three different luxury camps, offering personal service, ice cold drinks, the finest “bush” cuisine and stories spun around an evening campfire while listening to the nocturnal sounds of the bush. Days are filled with wildlife viewing activities in open four-wheel drive vehicles, on foot, in the traditional mokoro and by air. You explore this fascinating wilderness, escorted by the finest local rangers. (B,L,D) ORIENT EXPRESS SAFARI LODGES. Day 8 Saturday - Maun/Johannesburg Taking fond memories of this beautiful land with you, fly to Johannesburg for the night.
